Codeine

Codeine resembles morphine but is a lot milder. As a common ingredient in a cough medicine it has an anti-tussive action, but does not contain a strong enough dose to create any euphoric effects. Some psychological dependence may evolve due to the drug's elative and sedative effects.

This alkaloid is found in opium in concentrations ranging from 0.7 to 2.5 percent.

Also found in prescription cough syrup. Slows you down all around.

The good effects:
· High with dizziness
· Skin, Lips, Face feel numb
· Relieves pain quite well
The bads:
· decreased sex drive
· Urinary haulting or problems

As it is an opiate, its effects are similar to those of morphine and heroin (although less potent and with a slower onset).

good effects include euphoria, sedation, relaxation, pain relief, the feeling of warmth, and a general sense of well-being.

bad effects include itchiness (common with all opiates, this lasts the duration of the high), nausea, lowered libido (temporary and lasts the duration of the high), and constipation. -Urban Dictionary

Barbiturates street names: barbs, bluebirds, dolls, wallbangers, yellows, downers, goofballs, sleepers, 'reds & blues' and tooties.

Downers are depressants. They slow your heart down and lower the blood pressure, giving you a lazy drunken high. This category of sedatives includes Amyl, Nembutal, Phenobarbital, Seconal, and Tuinal. Downers can damage brain functions and are very addictive if you take 200 mg. a day, or more over a long period. Withdrawal symptoms are pain, nausea, twitching and sometimes severe convulsions. Overdoses are quite common and dangerous. "Barbs" are especially dangerous for those having low blood pressure and heart defects. Needle freaks shooting downers take more risks than with other drugs because barbs contain insoluble chemicals. If a vain is missed, a painful abscess will appear and may develop into gangrene if untreated.

Treatment

If the person is unconscious CALL AN AMBULANCE. There is nothing you can do except save yourself and friends from a bust.  While waiting for medical assistance clean out all pockets, get rid of any stash in the house, and don't hold unprescribed drugs of any kind. Before flushing the stash -remember what the pills looked like that the person took (color, description, size) and if possible how many he took. Make up a good story- never say the person in question O.D.'d-mentioning depression and attempted suicide is a lot better-after all, a lot of straight people try to commit suicide every day.

Barbiturates are actually known as CNS depressants or central nervous system depressants and are in this class of drug along with benzodiazepines. This means that they reduce activity in the CNS to create effects that span the gamut from sedation to anesthesia. And though benzodiazepines have mostly replaced barbiturates in medical use, the former can still be found in hospitals across the country.

A barbiturate may be prescribed for a variety of reasons, the list is extensive, but the most common use today is as an anesthesia for surgery. This form is hardly ever abused because they cause almost immediate unconsciousness. However, other forms like Phenobarbital are used in treating various seizure disorders as an anticonvulsant. Other uses of this form of barbiturate along with mephobarbital include treating anxiety, insomnia, epilepsy and delirium tremens.

Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Dorothy Dandridge, Charles Boyer, Ellen Wilkinson, Dalida, Carole Landis, Dorothy Kilgallen, Jean Seberg, Jimi Hendrix, Edie Sedgwick, Phyllis Hyman, Inger Stevens, Kenneth Williams, Felix Hausdorff and C. P. Ramanujam died from barbiturate overdose.

This article is here to help perfectly nice, hardworking people get around a system that is unfair, because if an employer can’t tell from your performance that you’ve been high, then private habits should have zero relevance to your employability.

How to beat CPS

CPS should do everything in its power to keep families together and only separate children from their parents in the most severe cases. CPS could accomplish this by offering family counseling, parenting and drug classes and other services with the goal of keeping families together.
